Well...the Easter Bunny is on his way

New Sunflower !!!

This is a beautiful...Sunflower I finished just before I went on vacation. In the past, I spent almost 6+ months painting sunflowers... and now it's so wonderful to be able to create them in PMC. My first PMC piece was a smaller sunflower that I wear all the time. This one has a large raised section made black with patina...and that makes the high spots sparkle.

Just seeing this is giving me the push I need to start making more fun and beautiful pieces...thanks for visiting...

Back from Vacation...

Back from vacation...went to Longboat Key in Florida this time.
Really didn't want to come back to the rain...but we did anyway. I'm having some trouble getting back into the creative groove...
not sure if it's the weather or just me...I look down at my tan
hands typing and just wish I were somewhere warm...
but, my head is whirring with all the ocean and tropical images I saw...so, there my be seashells, crabs, palm trees, and starfish in my next designs...that is, if I can get up off my rear end and start creating...

maybe tomorrow...

I give you the Sun, Moon & Stars!

These are two more of my newest creations...there is just something about fitting all the little tiny pieces together... and yes, I did make 4...3/16" stars...and I nearly went blind. It's so much fun when an idea really works.

For some reason my paints and canvas are wooing me today...so I think I'll go paint some chickens...if it isn't the PMC, it's sunflowers and chickens...a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Inspired by dance...

Well...I think I have my mojo back...been dragging my feet about PMC for the last couple weeks..not sure why...I'll blame it on the weather...yeah...the weather....that'll work!
Anyway, as I was watching 'So You Think You Can Dance', one of the choreographers had on some earrings that inspired this design...what do you think?

I took all my Precious Metal Clay jewelry to the Friends of the Library store in NW Portland. They have a great Pop-Up store where everything is handmade by local artists...very cool...if you're in Portland, you have to stop by...
I also took several vintage bead bracelets... this one sold over the weekend...woohoo...
I'm in a bit of a quandary this week...I want to make more jewelry, but some ideas for papier mache pieces keep running around in my head. Good thing I can do just what I want...ahhhh.....life after 60...it is good.

I've taken a few weeks off...and now the studio is cleaned up after our big garage sale... wow...we put all our crafting goodies on 3 long tables to sell...and couldn't believe how much 'stuff' we had that we just didn't need. We're swearing off Michael's for a while...that's a dangerous place for someone to go who is creative.

Now it's back to working with my PMC and getting to the rest of the zodiac...
I'm hoping everyone is having a tolerable summer...
in the NW we keep complaining about no sun...
but it's definitely better that sweltering heat and floods.

New Zodiac Pieces

Zodiac Symbols: Taurus, Sagittarius, Leo, Cancer and Aquarius

These are the first 5 of the 12 zodiac symbols
that I have designed for the precious metal clay.
I just got more clay and the others will be up for sale next week.
They all have a word that is associated with the sign
and a couple crystals in the signs colors.

I'm still going to do the other kind that I started with...
the zodiac figures...
and I should have them up on my Etsy site in the next couple weeks too.

It feels great to get back in the studio creating...

I'm finally getting back in a routine in the studio...after our trip to LV, for the Licensing Show. It was an experience...106 degrees outside and about 65 inside and our booth was right under an AC duct...I could have used a big parka and some muck-lucks... Deidre (sissy) came back with a cold...and has been down until today (Friday)...but she got a lot of good contacts...
and is beginning to have contract talks. I guess all our hard work for 6 months paid off.

I'm working madly on the precious metal clay zodiac charms...here are a couple of
